CHARITY OR JUSTICE?
Kind people around the world want to help those born into poverty and misery. What happens though when we treat the symptoms of a problem while ignoring its cause?
Could it be that we are actually part of the problem, even as we lovingly give? Could our emotions be blinding us to the truth?
As Henry George said “Charity is false, futile, and poisonous when [and only when] offered as a substitute for justice”?
The overwhelming majority of poor people would not need charity if we simply stopped stealing from them.
