What Monopoly Can Teach Us
About Ending Poverty

EVOLUTION OF THE
MONOPOLY
BOARD GAME

Monopoly was originally designed as an educational game to teach players about the root of inequality -land. Objective: buy as many properties as possible. Rents collected can be used to buy more property. Inequality quickly snowballs as the rising value of real estate concentrates in the hands of a few, just as it did during the 2008 economic crash. We are playing a real life game of Monopoly and suffering the consequences. There is an alternative though. We can play by “The Prosperity Rules.”
